The one that costs money if you ignore it is the door itself. A front door with nothing over it takes weather directly, and on a timber door that means swelling, sticking and a paint finish that fails years early. A canopy is cheaper than a door.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eHow ours are built\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003e42mm marine grade G316 stainless steel brackets with a brushed finish, 8mm toughened safety glass with all edges polished, and stainless glass clamps and wall fittings. G316 is the grade specified near the coast, and it is a genuinely different material from the 304 that most budget canopies use.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eClear glass is standard and frosted is available on any width. The two smallest widths are held in stock in clear glass, so they ship in days rather than weeks.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eBefore you order\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eCheck what you are fixing into. The wall has to be sound and able to carry the canopy, and that is worth establishing before the pallet arrives rather than after. Fixings for both timber and masonry are supplied, along with basic fixing instructions, and assembly is within reach of reasonable DIY skills.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMeasure the opening rather than the door, and allow for the canopy sitting wider than the opening it covers.
