The screws, coach screws and throughbolts that actually hold the job together. Stainless where it is on show or outdoors, sold in packs so you are not short on the day.

This is the single most common thing people get wrong, and it is why a clamp will not pull up square or a bracket works loose after a winter. Steel, timber and masonry each need a different fixing, and a screw that works beautifully in one is useless in another.
Most glass clamps take two screws each, and it is worth having a couple spare. A dropped screw on a scaffold is gone. Packs are cheap set against a second trip.
Tell us what the fixing is going into and what it is holding, and we will tell you which of these it is. Substrate matters more than load on most balustrade work: the fixing is rarely the weak point, the thing it is screwed into usually is. Perished mortar, thin blockwork and plasterboard all need thinking about before anything is drilled. Email us with a photo if in doubt.
This is made to order in our own Sheffield workshop, so it can just as easily be made to your dimensions instead. Send a photo and rough sizes and we will price it.
