Galvanised Steel Juliet Balcony - Birkby, One Off Clearance 1625mm

A one off Birkby Juliet balcony, already made and sitting in our Sheffield workshop. It was made for a job that then changed to a walk-out balcony, so it came off site unused and came back to us. That makes it a single unit at one fixed size rather than a made to measure balcony.

Overall size 1625mm wide x 1125mm high. We make every Birkby 150mm wider than the opening on each side, so this one suits a structural opening up to around 1300mm wide. For anything wider, see the made to measure Birkby Juliet balcony.

Two ways to buy it

• As it is, dispatched this week. It is galvanised and powdercoated black, but the finish carries multiple scuffs from being moved and stored. They could be touched in, although our honest recommendation is to repaint it properly rather than patch it. The galvanising underneath is intact, so the steel is protected whatever the paint looks like.
• Re-powdercoated in any colour, 1 to 2 weeks. We recoat it in the RAL Classic colour of your choice, so you are not stuck with black, and it arrives finished. Tell us the colour reference with your order.

Either way it is cheaper than a made to measure one and quicker, because a new Birkby is 3 to 6 weeks from order.

What the Birkby is

Galvanised mild steel with solid flat bar horizontal rails, 12mm solid square infill bars at compliant centres, and the criss-cross feature panel that appears on nothing else we make. Fully welded, built in our Sheffield workshop to the same specification as every other Birkby.

One difference from the photograph. The main picture shows a standard Birkby. This particular balcony has a full length fixing flat down each side, running the full height of the frame, rather than the shorter fixing points shown in the photo.

UKCA marked to BS EN 1090-2, execution class EXC2. Designed in accordance with BS 6180 for domestic use, at 0.74kN/m loading and 1100mm high. If it is going into anything other than a private dwelling, ask us first.

Condition and warranty

The 10 year structural warranty applies as it would to any Birkby. The finish is a different matter: bought as it is, the black paintwork is sold as seen, scuffs included, and is the reason for the price. Bought re-powdercoated, the new coating is covered as normal.

Fixings and installation

Every fixing needed to assemble the balcony is supplied. Wall fixings are not. The right anchor depends on what your building is made of, and that is not a call we can make from here. The full length side flats come drilled ready and your installer selects anchors to suit the substrate.
